What's your opinion on TES games?

I don't think that they are the greatest games ever made like some people do, but Morrowind is my personal favorite game of all time. That said, I know it has flaws, but every game does, may they be major or minor.

I haven't played the first two but I'm going to start Daggerfall soon. Oblivion has great quests and the graphics are pretty good for 2006 not to mention fucking with the adoring fan is some of the funnest shit in vidya. But the combat is floaty and doesn't have much depth. The level scaling makes everything too easy and doesn't give you good loot if you're lower leveled, along with other flaws. And don't get me started on the potato faces.

Skyrim had potential to be good, judging from all the trailers and info. Skyrim lacked in almost every aspect compared to Oblivion and most definitely Morrowind/Daggerfall. I think the thing I hate the most is how they took out skills and traded them in for perks. I don't see why they couldn't have had both. They could have even done it Fallout 3/New Vegas style with skills and interesting perks. Most of the skills are useless and/or easy to level up. I could sit here and type out every flaw with Skyrim but I don't think anyone would enjoy reading that. On to the positives. The combat feels slightly less floaty from Oblivion but is still floaty. I think the magic was nice and with some more and creative spells, could be awesome. It is pretty good at taking up your time, but after under 100 hours I got bored of it, which I guess is a good amount of game time.

I haven't been able to play TES Online in its beta yet, but once I do I will form a valid opinion of it. Until then, it's shittier than Skyrim.

In the end, I think they all have great music and they all have problems but most def' have pluses.

Sorry for the wall of text, but I left out a full opinion on Morrowind to cut it down some.

I'll be honest the only TES I liked was skyrim. But I only played for 20 hours or so. I tried Morrowind because people hype it as the best TES game but it doesn't stand the test of time. Oblivion I played had some fun but I hated how it looked and those oblivion gates or whatever.

morrowind is the strongest one but has huge problems for me to actually keep playing it. the quest journal is trash, the combat feels so old now, and once you hit a certain level in the game you can craft your own spells that are super op and wreck everyones shit.
oblivion is probably the worst elder scrolls game. the questing is even more shallow than skyrim and the combat is barely a step up from morrowind. the map was kinda dull and random enemies drop like the best loot in the game once you hit a certain level. the biggest thing i liked about that one was getting infected with vampire disease.
skyrim is kinda a mix of both. they revamped the leveling system in a better way and removed useless stats. combat was better, still bad though. the biggest problem for skyrim is that the main questline felt like a sidequest compared to the guild quests. only the final act was compelling in any way. also the procedurally generated quests were a good idea but ended up just being fetch quests with a different twist. in the end skyrim just stretches itself thin and the game becomes tiring after you beat most of the actual quests.

I played Oblivion's first mission and didn't feel like going on and I recently started enjoying Skyrim a lot more than I did before. Skyrim is fun imo for a little while and TES Online looks like it's going to be fun pretty much because you can explore the huge worlds provided in some of TES games with friends. I signed up for the beta as well and haven't gotten access yet either but when/if I do ill post what I think about it in this thread i guess

its got the entire skyrim fanbase behind it, so even if it might go free 2 play it will be awhile after they have taken all the middle schoolers allowance money

Not only subscription based but I believe it has an in-game cash shop.

The only one I really got into was Oblivion, which was pretty fun. I tried Skyrim, but it just made me want to play more Oblivion.
